America has made allies and enemies due to former presidents in history...Some people wouldn’t agree with some of the things that have happened in former presidential terms, so do we change it or accept it? According to Dick Cheney, President Obama went overseas and apologized for past actions that America had made in order to make new ties...Cheney quoted that he was "disturbed" by this...how do you feel?

I feel like this is exactly what our country needs right now, especially with our economic downturn. The importing and exporting of American goods to these other countries could result in the boosting of our current recession.

It all depends what the real situation was. We will never know but i can only imagine what the Bush administration could have done. I dont think Obama should go around appologizing to anyone and everyone tho because it makes us look weak and kinda of bashes the Presidents of the past.

Disagree! President Obama went and bascially slapped all past presidents in the face by "apologizing" for their mistakes. No president is blamed for how we are now and why our ties with other countries is the way they are. Obama needs to worry firstly about our economy, bailing out our banks and car industries, restoring buisness's and homes before he goes across seas and apoligizes to other countries. Disturbed is a great word Dick Cheney used.

Obama apologizing for previous presidents actions is pretty weak. It is honestly a wast of his time. What are they going to do kiss and makeup? I thought this was profesional...

I agree. I am deeply concerned when the president of the United States is brown nosing the rest of the world. We are the most powerful nation on earth, and if you don't like it, oh well. It is not the job of the United States president to suck up to and be concerned with what other nations want. worry about whats best for America. I guarantee that whats best for America will benefit the rest of the world.

Wow, apologizing, guess Cheney never had to do that. Face up to it, the US is not perfect, operation Mongoose, support of terriorists in Cuba, to WMD's in Iraq. There are plenty of things we have flubbed up on, the back rub of Angela Merkle is one that needs a nice "I'm Sorry" card and some flowers, and what is something we are told growing up? When you do something bad you need to be responsible and apologize for it. As the president Obama is saying that we Americans made some mistakes, we did things that didn't work out as we hoped they would and we are sorry about that. What is so wrong with that, atleast it lets people know that we are not in a permanent state of denial. Only those who are kings or dictators need to be afraid of apologizing, not leaders elected into office, elected to fix the "past mistakes the led us down this path" (Obama used that phrase numerous times).
