It has long been stereotyped that the Democratic party has been the champion of the poor, the minority, the working class. It has also been stereotyped that the Republican party champions the "Big Business" or the white collar workers. in essence the rich. Now it seems that the common belief of people is that party politics is bad. Why? because they are power hungry, power grabbing, and will do whatever it takes to remain in power. Based on these assumptions does it not make sense for the success of a party, they must have a larger party base. therefore the Democrats to receive more power, there must be more poor and working class people, and for the Republicans to have more rich or white collar working people? And in order to maintain power the Democrats would have to make more people poor and keep them poor, and for the Republican party to make more people rich and keep them rich? which would you want to be?
