D.C. Council Votes to Recognize Gay Marriages Performed in Other States

WASHINGTON -- The D.C. Council has voted to recognize gay marriages performed in other states.

Lawmakers say Tuesday's unanimous vote moves the city a step closer to eventually allowing same-sex marriages to be performed in the nation's capital.

This can't be real. What is our world falling apart and turning into? What happened to the strong moral values that our country was founded on. The next thing you know we wont be sending child molesters to prison just rehab.

I believe that if a man wants to marry another man, he should have the right to without having to ask anyone for permission, same goes with female couples. I do not support gays but why should they not be allowed to marry who they want to marry. I also do not understand what sending child molesters to rehab and not to prison has to do with your post.

Personally, i believe the government should not be involved in our everyday social lives... I think you would agree.
