President Obama wants to tax the rich in order pay for plans that would make life financially easier to citizens who are less fortunate. Most wealthy Americans are successful because they work hard. I don't think an ambitious person should have to pay for a lazy one.

I agree it encourages laziness among the lower portion of society. With the government paying poor people to be poor, why try and aspire to something greater. I don't believe the old phrase "The American dream" includes paying part of your check to someone who does half the work you do.

I dont believe that is what Obama is trying to do. Some people are more fortunate than others, and because of that maybe they should pay alittle more in their taxes.

The people who make it are the people who work harder...haha. Some people make it because their parents worked hard or grandparents left them a great sum of money. Now honestly speaking some people who dont make it is because of themselves but a lot of them arent giving the same experiences to make it.
People make it because of the experiences some are afforded great ones while others are not. Thats the best way i can put it, you have some people who make it because they have been left a large sum of money while some dont make it beacuse they are called upon to take care of siblings or grow up to early in life.

I agree with your point but I would also say that to call people who aren’t wealthy lazy is not accurate? As well as calling the rich hard workers…this cannot be completely proven for the majority of cases. There is no correlation between the two. In some cases maybe but there are tons of factors that go into someone’s income, for example...how they were raised, where they were raised, their levels of completed education...obama is not saying he is going to take money from the rich and give it to the poor… He is simply having their taxes be higher to put more money into the economy… I think they can handle it!
The most talked about thing Obama plans to do, and one of the only things i can disagree with. To tax the rich to help the poor is not right. We pay enough in taxes as it is now if anything lower the taxes of the less wealth.

True, I don't want my taxes to pay for some lazy person who relies on food stamps and other government programs for luxurious survival. But I would like my taxes to pay for someone truely in need. I would want my taxes to help vicitms of natural disasters. In fact I would rather have my taxes pay for a family that just needs a little more than wehat they have, than have my taxes go to some congressman so he can go on paid vacation.
Thank you I am so glad somebody finally realizes what Obama is doing. It is a shame that majoritiy of voters for this election only voted because they wanted "change." What change are we getting? Now my father who has worked his whole life to provide for our family and make sure that we grow up in a supporting and wealthy household has to share his tax dollars? Why does some bum who sits around lazy as can be with no work experience now recieve our money? It is ridiculous and hopefully one day people will see that "change" is not always a good thing.

Point blank...You have to draw the line somewhere. How is anyone going to know if those "wealthier" people just wern't born into a rich family and didn't work hard what so ever. How are we going to know if the "less fortunate" really are poor for good reasons. If we let this giving out get to far the government will pretty much control. Not so free anymore.

Not all poor people are lazy. Yes, there are people that are poor because of their laziness and bad choices, but some were given bad starts because of where their parents came from. I do agree with you when you say that you dont believe a rich person should pay taxes to lead a poor person to a financially better life, but maybe this is the trickle down effect that could help our economy get back on its feet.

This is very true.With the taxes Obama is giving out it seems like only the really poor will get money.Yes i understand someone that makes 50 million dollors a year should get tax a lot more than 50 thousand.Obama taxes hurt those who make over 75,000. this i usally people with higher degrees.This is not fare one bit. You study your ass off in school get your masters and now you have to be tax more this is insane.

its not that people are lazy but the tax system isnt fair. Someone who makes 65000 a year has so much more to lose than someone who makes 200000. The tax system needs to be thought and re done. Everyone should be taxed according to what they make so its fair for everyone.

I think the health care system needs to be revamped. Maybe this isnt the best way to go about it but 45 million people are without healthcare. The wealthy can spare a little more than the less fortunate. Maybe it could be a tax write off one day. How much they give towards healthcare.
