Health Care

President Obama's health care plan would make health insurance affordable to all Americans. Our nation's health as a whole would reap the benefits of this. However, wealthy citizens would be paying for this plan with their increased taxes. I personally do not think this is fair. Why should successful Americans have to pay for people who are less fortunate?

if u require the poor to pay for this then they might as well not do anything to change this. Saying that the wealthy should have to pay is not my answer either however, its more likely to get handled that way.

I think that by having the wealthy pay for it is a quick solution but not nessicarily fair...if we were able to focus on health care more we would have a better solution but with the economy the way it is, its going to be a while before we can fix this!

People who are less fortunate can be so for many reasons. Their has to be opportunities for the less fortunate to make themselves successful. Without the rich, how is there poor? People who have a lot of money deserve their money, but does it really ruin their life to help someone else out? Should successfulness really mean having a lot of extra money to spend on anything? The rich have no choice to give to the poor. How is it worse for someone to give to the poor then to buy a new car? There are right uses and wrong uses for money. I believe giving to the poor through taxes or whatnot, is a just use of money.

First off, health care is already available to all people in the United States. Anyone can walk into an emergency room and must be made stable by law regardless of if they can pay for it or not. National health care must still be paid for by tax payers. the government can make it cheaper by borrowing money it cant repay putting this nation into greater debt. higher taxes on the wealthy is not only morally unethical, it is against what this nation stands for.

I do not think it is fair for the wealthy to pay for others health care through taxes. I also don't think its fair that poor shouldn't be given health care. This is a very sticky situation and there are so many pro's and con's to the different health care policies trying to get passed. There is not enough information provided yet from Obama's plan of Universal health care that American's can fully argue if it is going work or not.

Although no one wants to pay for someone else's health care, the taxes are more of a way of resetting America's economy by leveling out the class system temporarily and allowing it to resettle into a healthy market. There will and should always be a low, middle and upper class as it is required for a capitalist economy to function. By essentially squeezing the classes back into a functional margin, we can start fresh with a thriving economy.
