Pennsylvania's district attorney is getting suied by the ACLU and parents of kids "sexting". Students are now texting others pictures of themsevels in bathing suits and the ACLU wants to charge the kids with a felony? The ALCU is claiming that this is considered as ponography and the childred should be given an ultimatum, eathier take a required class on this subject or get arrested. This is compleatly out of line and an unrealistic charge. This should be taken as any other inapproprate act, and just take away a privlage of the child. No need to waste time in a class over this. Must less, arrest anyone.

A cell phone is considered private property...so does that mean the ACLU has the right to bust into people’s houses and try and arrest them for having sex in the privacy of their own home? NO! This is completely wrong...now if it’s a case where a child is sending naked pictures to an adult and trying to work out a way for a meeting between the two then that’s a safety issue...other than that I think the ACLU needs to keep to themselves!
I agree Olivia- I find it absolutely sick that children that old are "sexting" but if parents have there panties all in a wad- TAKE YOUR KIDS PHONE AWAY! Thats another problem in itself- but that is obviously no government matter, you just need to teach your kids some good morals and punish them privately- no reason to waste and involve the government in your childs dirty laundry- that is actually quite embarassing!

I agree with Lisa, a cell phone is indeed considered a private property, and as per what I've heard in our POS 1041 class, any kind of sexual activity carried out in the privacy of one's home is considered legal, wouldn't that make sexting legal as well? Also as far as the underage sexting goes, if two people are texting back and forth either one of them can lie about their age or any other information, so one shouldn't be punished based on that.

I would agree that a cellphone is private property and it's up to your own judgement how to use it. If your parents didn't teach you morals then you really don't know what is right and what is wrong. No one should be arrested for "sexting" however there should be other consequences for these acts. There are many other worse things that people are doing to focus on.
