The Obama Campaign Experience

I started working within the Democratic Party because of my experiencing throughout the Kosovo and the Iraq War. From that point on I knew that I had to take a personal stake in the political decision that are made within our county. We so often disconnect ourselves from the effects of our political decision outside of the United State, because it always easier to turn the television off instead of doing anything about it. I truly believe everything that happens in our lives is for a reason. This has not only changed the direction of my life, but it has also giving me the drive necessary to accomplish anything that I set my mind to. My journey has led me to believe, if you give someone a cause worth fighting for they will give there all. This election is beyond the continuation of the presidency of the United States of America. This election is nothing less than a movement which will be ingrained in our history books forever. The people of America have decided to stand up for what they believe in. We have shown the world that the true definition of a patriot is having the strength to see the problems of the world and to fix them no matter the consequence. The creation and progress United States of America has never been an individual effort. It is dream that a few good men and women made a reality. Millions of people have once again joined in a cause that’s worth fighting for. We will no longer accept what is giving to us, but instead fight for what we think can be achieved. People from all different walks of life, color, and age have joined together to fight for something larger than themselves. Barack Obama has once again put the power of the people over the power of propaganda. I have never felt closer to a cause than I do right now. I finally feel like I have given back some of what has been giving to me and even some of what I have taken from others. After we win this campaign we will be able not only to say that we made history, but we will also be privileged enough to say that we made a difference. Barack and the people who fight with him will have left the America better than we have found it to be. We will once again be the beacon of light that has started to fade away during the last eight years. This campaign will not end with Election Day. It will proceed on in the lessons we have learned. This campaign has shown us that the impossible is no longer impossible. It is only another movement away.

Just for clarification, I wrote this blog one week before the election. I was the Obama campaign field organizer in charge of Okaloosa County. It was about 2:00am, and I hadn’t had much more than four hours of sleep per night the entire week before. I wrote this to myself to help keep the drive and energy up needed to reach Election Day. This blog was once a lot larger, but I decided to edit some of my personal information out of it. This is the first time that I have shared this with a large number of people. I hope you enjoy this post and take away something of your own from my feelings and experiences at that time.

That is awesome you got to experience so many things during your time with the service. I am curious as to what your stand is on the War in Iraq and our choosing to impose Democracy in a foreign nation??
