REPUBLICAN:”THE PARTY OF THE ANCIENT SENIORS”

George H. W. Bush endorses McCain for Republican Party nominee. After reading this article it made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I can just see McCain and George H.W. Bush at the Big Texas Ranch playing shuffle broad over a hot cup of milk, talking about the “Good Old Days.” Well folks I don’t know about you but, we don’t need a president whose number one concern is not “who he would call to help him up if he slips and fall in the White House.” In Florida we have a place for McCain and it’s not the “Oval Office”, we can do better than that for a Veteran: “It is the Sunny Land Retirement Home.” Were he can play all the shuffle broad he could stand and he can put the whole Bush family on his visiting list. Is it just me or do anyone else feels like McCain, think the young people in America, don’t have a brain or that they can’t think for themselves?

Why do you think McCain has contempt for young people? Haven't heard him say anything to that effect. One of the unique aspects of our culture is the general spirit of contempt that youngsters seem to have for the elderly. Many cultures cultivate a spirit of reverance for the elderly. Think back to where you were in your understanding of the world at the age of ten yrs. How much more did you perceive and at least think you understood by the time you were twenty yrs old? How much more do you think you will understand by the time you make 70 yrs? Aside from the health issues that we would face having a senior president, I think McCains age is an attribute. He is old enough to be keenly aware of his mortality. The imminence of death, in the context of McCains professed spiritual beliefs may serve to make him more resistant to bowing to special interest groups, doing favors for friends, etc. Maybe knowing that he may have no more than a few years left will help him to be a better man, hence, a better president. Of course none of us know how long we have left but the seniors that I know seem to be much more aware of impending death than most middle aged or younger. That said, the test scores for American students are lagging behind those of students in many countries, to include many third world areas. We have an incredibly high teen obesity rate. Lots of very young mass murderers in the news these days...not to mention a host of other issues that american youth are struggling with. Could an objective person really blame anyone who had a less than stellar impression of the youth of our country?

Truth be know, I have a profound amount of respect for older people. Sometimes however the respect is not returned. McCain is just arragent.
