Just Imagine seeing what “Tom Lantos” Lived Through

History is passed on in most cases through a secondary source. In most cases one can only imagine, what it is like to have a primary source on significant political and historical events. Mr. Lantos was just that, he lived through the worst time imaginable for the Jewish people. When people talk about the “Holocaust” it angers and stirs the Jewish people’s emotions, just like talking about that of “Slavery” for African Americans. Many African American people of today however didn’t have a primary source of information into the many atrocities that “white men” committed on the “Black American Slave”. This was not the case for the Jewish people however; Many Jewish communities were very social and close knit group. Imagine Mr. Lantos telling his stories of everyday life in a “Nazi Concentration Camp.” Try to imagine his personal thoughts about “Adolph Hitler”, who again he experienced for himself first hand! Imagine the loss of love ones he had to experience and endure! Imagine for a moment escaping with your life, when you personally know so many who were not so fortunate to do so. Imagine being freed, only to come to America as a lonely Immigrant in a very strange place during a great depression! How would you respond? Would you become bitter? Would you just live in self-pity until you die? Would you become a murderous minus to society? Would you become a drunkard or a drug user? Not many would have had the strength, courage and heart to do what “Mr. Tom Lantos” did. He became proactive in pioneering the plight of human rights! He did not just become reactive to his desperate circumstances! What Mr. Lantos did politically, for human rights in this country: It is an incumbent charge to all of us as Americans. We need to stand up for our rights and for the rights of the less fortunate, also. Mr. Lantos lived a life of positive, passionate and political influence: What kind of life will “Generation X” live? If you are Young it is your time, you future; "so take hold of your chance to influence it.

I admire Mr. Lantos, I know if I were in his shoes, I do not know how I would had survived being in a concentration camp. I know for a fact that I would not have made it through slavery. In Mr. Lantos situation i must say that it took courage. I am proud of him for that. I also beleive that people rights are very importnat. It will be interesting to see what "{Generation X" developes into.

I think Mr.Lantos had a strength that not many people have. Thank God he did. Without people like that I think we would not have come as far as we have, although we still have a bit to go.

Hi: Kristen Paul once again I find myself agreeing with you we do still have a long ways to go. Amada, we must encourage Generation X to be proactive.

Nit-picking point - I think Gen-X is all in there thirties now. I think us current young people are supposed to be "Gen-Y" or some such nonsense, I'm honestly not sure.

The Gen Y thing never really caught on. The most common name I've heard used is the Millennial Generation.

Matthew A., so that I' am politically correct I will say it is up to the "Millennial Generation." Mr. Q., once again thanks for the correct information.

This brings up a new topic...did anybody see the news show a couple of months ago in which an old nazi general turned up in florida...he's something like 80 years old now and is going on trial for war crimes. Also, I have read some books, though I'm writing this at school so I don't have access the them at the moment, that completely change the view on the holocaust. These books challenge the numbers of jews that were killed, change the kinds of deaths that are associated, (for instance, they say now that by checking for trace poison at auschwitz, they now decided that the death showers never existed. many people died of malnutrition and diseases.) It also says how there weren't even 6 million jews in Germany and Poland at that point in time...makes you wonder just a little bit. Coming to a new place for the first time? I've done it a few times. Poor, addicted to drugs, blah blah...no biggie. Courage and heart I'm sure are involved, but nothing like this makes me impressed in the least.

Stuff like this has been thoroughly debunked as completely false or fabricated. The evidence for the common narrative about the Holocaust is so overwhelming that there are few, if any, things in history that are more confirmed by more evidence.

Jd White, What comes to mind when your hear "WHITE POWER?" Although many claim to have white power or to be "A Pure Breed" according to the history that goes back to the beging of time. You and I are brothers, my brothers have deferent colors but we all came from one. Our thoughts are completly different but under the skin we are the exact same our blood is the same, the only difference is what we were thought by someone. If you skin a hog and then skin a turkey they don't look the same. That's not so with people as Jeffery Domer found out. Question of the day "Why Do You Think That Is Brother?" The hint is in the use of one key word, brother & I mean literaly. You should read better books, before you start on your next book let me preview it for you, so I can tell you if it is credible or trash!
