I have to admit, when Oprah first came out endorsing Obama, I was a little turned off. I'm not a fan of hers and when I saw that she was going out with him making speeches of her own I didn't even want to listen. Be that as it may, it's looking like he'll get my vote. I'm not 100% on that but it's not looking good in my party. THEN, while watching the news tonight..I see that Robert De Niro has come out endorsing Obama. MR. GOOD FELLA HIMSELF! I must say, I did feel a little more comfortable in making my final decision! De Niro would never steer me in the wrong direction, right?!?!
But seriously..How do you guys feel about these celebrities getting involved with the election? I'm sure if you're a fan of whatever celebrity is tagging along then you don't mind but what if a person does not like the celebrity endorsing a certain candidate? Would that be enough for you to second guess who you're voting for?
By the way..(not that it would ever happen for obvious reasons) but if my good ol' buddy Cliff Harris comes out endorsing somebody I WILL vote for that person. Even if they've dropped out..I'll do a write in. Harris over De Niro any day of the week for sure!

I think its great to see everyone involved. It is sometimes amusing or even comical to see who is for who when it comes to politics. I personally take very lightly to whom actors are endorsing, and why. Great topic though!
It's scary to think that someone would vote for a hopeful based on a celebrity's endorsement, but I bet it does happen.
I Think its a bit sad that America has come to the point that celebrities are endorsing our future American leaders. Some celebrities are as clueless as average day Americans when it comes to politics. Just because someone has money doesn't mean they should be regarded as an important factor to that persons campaign. Celebrities should just stick to their daytime jobs...ETERTAINMENT.
This may be true, but on the other hand i can think of many celebrities who are very knowledgeable on the subject, its all who you want to listen to and take what they say with a grain of salt.
I agree with Andrew on the matter, it's great to get every one involed. It is not unheard of however for some top particular celebrities to influence the way the viewing public votes by who they themselves endorses. Just look at how they infect our daily thoughts like looks, clothing, hair styles, cars, houses, relationships and much more. It is sad but true. Wanse,Many celebrities probly khow more about the presidental canidates, then many regular people and college students. They potientaly have more to lose or gain then average working class. As for you Ms. Paul lets just asume Cliff, is voting for Obama, I hope to count you in for the general election.
well Turner I'm republican but since the candidate I wanted didn't make the cut I will be voting for Obama! IF I can vote outside my party that is.
Hi: Kristen, just who was your canidate and why?
That my friend will be sure to cause a debate. One that is too much for this blog right here!
Looks like a Fred Head to me! I wish he was still in the race too, i'm not sure if I trust Huckabee.
I LOVE Fred Thompson on Law and Order..but i think he needs to stick to tv.
i feel that celebraties are the same as the avarage joe when it comes to politics , i am not going to change my mind if my favorate celeb wants someone else to win the election! they shoould not have a influence on our society in that way becuase they are just as equal when it comes to politics , in my eyes!!
I have more than one Amy in my classes, so I can't give you credit for this unless you put your full name on it.
Kristen Paul, form your bloggs in the past you showed much zeal and seemed to be very passionate, maybe you were really not behind the canidate that you had in mind, in the first place. You choice of silence is okay on this issue.
