Hope for Federal Funds
In THIS article, Governors are pushing for a second stimulus package to be passed allowing money to be used to repair roads, water ways and bridges in the different states. President Bush has already signed the initial stimulus package and tax payers can look forward to a $600 check in about May. I believe that a second stimulus package is a good idea. Each state has their own problems that need to be taken care of. If the second package is signed it would be nice if some of the dirt roads in Jackson County finally get paved. My only concern is would this package be too strenuous on the national budget? Cuts are already being made that in my opinion, need more support. For example the cut to medicade. Maybe it is time for some one to take a good look at how insurance is set up in our country and possibly come up with some revisions.

Let me ask you something. I heard these rebate checks some of us are going to be getting is just money from what we would have been getting from next years income tax. So they aren't really giving us money..it's just money we would have got next year, now we won't because we're getting it now. You get what I'm saying? Is that really what it is?
I would like to see some dirt roads paved! I live out in the country on dirt roads and after all this weather came through it's putting hell on my baby girl to drive through it. My impala can't take all that! And on one of the dirt roads there is a few hundred feet of pavement. Right in the middle of the dirt road. It's like their teasing me. The least they could do is come out and finish the job to the stop sign or something!! It's been like that for 23 years. Somebody with a better last name that mine will have to move out here before we get this road fixed.
Oh, nice blog by the way.
Good blog.. I also heard the rumor that it is just and advancement. I am not 100% on it being true as well, I'm sure someone on here knows the scoop.
I really thought it was extra money. If it is just an advancement I'll be very sad!!
Kristen P., your right it is a cash advance it's not bonus or free money. All stimulus packages come from the people pocket. It is true roads, bridges and many other infostucture pojects need to be done, it to will cost, sadly to say is will most likely come in the form of taxes.
