KANYE WEST (POLITICAL FALLICIES)
Kanye West decided to publicly voice his opinion about how he felt about our current president. I believe that Mr. West was acting off pure emotion. Mr. West lack the evidencience to support his claim that our president did not like Black Americans. Mr. West made a conclusion about President George W. Bush due to an observational study and also truth by declaration. Mr. West shold have kept his opinion to his self or his very close friends. I will not agree or disagree with the statement made by Mr. West, but I must say it was unappriotiate.

Kanye needs to stick to what he does best and that is making hit records!
I must say I am tired of people talking trash about the current president. Unless you are a person highly educated in government and you know how it works or if you were in the White House when all that was going down and you know all the details then how can you really judge somebody else on the job they did?
People form their opinons on what they see on tv, which we've learned is mostly bull. People form their opinions on what they hear other people say, especially their family. They hear something about Bush finishing what his daddy did or whatever it is but how do they know this? And did we not learn that only Congress has the right to declare war? Why isn't anybody talking about them?
I'm not sitting here saying the man did a good job but I am saying I wasn't there so who do I think I am to sit here and judge it?! For all I know, the man did what he thought was best at the time with the information that he was given and I do not see how I can think any differently unless I have proof!
(I didn't mean to go on like that. You all will have to excuese me!)
Kanye West thinks that everyone hates his race. There were even reports of him saying that MTV was discrimintaing against rich black people. I myself thought that it was very unprofessional of him to say what he did about president Bush, although I'll have to admit the look on Mike Myer's face was priceless!
Ladies we are dealing with old news but it is history. As for me beliefs or my feeling on the matter, I personally don't like Kanye West or most of his music. However he does have the right to voice his opinion even if it is about the president. That's one of the great things about this country, it also is one of the most misused liberties of this great country. Amanda you were right, "he was acting off of pure emotions" you could tell by his tone during his speach, but I'm glad he did so. Until that incident the number one thing he thought about was Kanye West, at some time we all need an eye opener. Kristen I dis agree with you, because you are doing the same thing as Kanye, you are just voicing your personal feeling and emotions about him. You have comitted serval "logical fallacies as well:
Kanye needs to stick to what he does best and that is making hit records!
Ad hominem-your tone and word choice attacks the person. Second (DNF) you have concluded that making "Hit Records" is what he does best, can you prove that statement? Third logicall fallacy is, (EM)

Your statement here only proves that you think there is only two things people are to do: Be highly educated on the government an how it works! Or be silent on issues with the government. There is no middle ground here, there are many more examples of the fallacies you have in-fact committed more logical fallacies than Kanye himself did in his speach. Cherish you to have falling into the common ground of logical fallacies, I however only have time to point out one of your fallacies.
Kanye West thinks that everyone hates his race.
(LOE)there is know evidence to prove that Kanye thought that "Everyone Hates His Race." This would mean that he Actaully thought his own mother hated his race. That sounds kind of crazy to believe after all she was a teacher trying to better her community.
Turner, I would love to read your whole comment. I know you put alot of time and effort into it..you're really dedicated about this whole thing..but I've got to get work!
Just so you know, I knew what I wrote was my opinion and not facts. I didn't try to present it as anything else! I would love to sit here with my notes from class beside me and really get into all this will you but I got bills to pay buddy! Got to get to work! Good looking out though!
Cherish, I do agree with what you stated about Kanye, girl I don't really like his music either. I think thta Kristen Paul is correct about people not having to put themselves in the current President shoes.I do not really know what decisions I would had made if I had his job.
I have more than one Amanda in my classes, so I can't give you credit for this unless you put your full name on it.
>Unless you are a person highly educated in government and you know how it works or if you were in the White House when all that was going down and you know all the details then how can you really judge somebody else on the job they did?
One doesn't need to be in the White House to judge what the White House has done. It helps to be educated, though.
>And did we not learn that only Congress has the right to declare war? Why isn't anybody talking about them?
They are, Congress has a lower approval rating than the president. If Hillary Clinton hadn't originally voted for the war, she probably would've already won the Democratic nomination.
>For all I know, the man did what he thought was best at the time with the information that he was given and I do not see how I can think any differently unless I have proof!
A lot of people are basing their opinions on things like the Downing Street Memo, which signals that the president was determined to go to war regardless of the details.
Kristen Paul, I' am the type of person that try to use what i learn often so I can become use to it. Thank you for your always lively debate on the issues. Have fun at work, that to is to be commended.
i think that he should have found a better way to express his feelings. I agree that his statment was out of line and that is unfortunate for him. People will remember him by what he says and that can be a bad thing.
i think its crazy tha MMS only "Believe" there is oil and gas there. i also agree that we need to find alternatives to our oil dependancys! We do have the technology...and it is even being done. Our problem is the ties the oil companies have with the government. The oil companies have too much power and somebody needs to force them to find alternatives.
Hi; Brittani York, my name is Lamar T. I'm not sure that I follow which post your second response are commenting on. This is the post about Kanye West. What does MMS stand for?

I also believe that Kanye was acting from his emotions; that's not always a good thing. I don't think that he should have been allowed to speak live because the "New Orleans" issue is such a sensitive topic. No one should blame Kanye because he was not emotionally stable at the time; just look at the video- the guy looks like he is losing it!
I agree he was rambling and upset, no one knew what to think. It just happend
One thing that bothers me: What makes celebrities think that they are some kind of authority on politics? They are in no way qualified to make claims like that that West made. They use their names and who they are to criticized the goverment, because the know they will be heard. If we want thier opinion lets let Ryan Seacrest interview them... until then, they should keep their views on politics to themsleves.
