New Abortion Bill

"By a 3-2 party line vote, the Senate health and human services appropriations committee just passed Majority Leader Dan Webster's bill (2400) requiring women seeking a first-trimester abortion to get an ultrasound that they'll likely have to pay for themselves."
Personally I feel that abortion should be allowed in certain cases. I think that rape, incest, and a girl under the age of 15 are all good candidates for consideration for different reasons. I do not however believe in the whimsical idea that abortion should be used like birth control which is why I think that this bill a good step towards decreasing the number of rushed abortions in Florida. I believe that having a mother see their child will give them some sense of connection that they may not of previously felt and they may change their minds.

Dude, that bill is sick. It's wrong on so many different levels. First, if you're getting an abortion you probability don't have a lot of money for health insurance so getting an ultrasound is going to cost a load of cash, cash which I'm sure a lot of these mother don't have. Second, it's totally sick to make women look at their child if they have to abort it.
Anyway, I think this bill will perpetuate the number of abortions done by non-medical personal due to the extensive cost it puts on the women needing the procedure.

Regardless of one's stance on abortion, this bill doesn't do much to lessen the ability of abortions. It does make it harder for poor people to get them, but has no affect on wealthier people, who are more likely to have abortions. It discriminates based on financial standing.

Now that I re-think the subject kenneth may be right...I still think this bill is a good step towards the way abortion needs to be handled, however its true that this bill would affect poorer mothers rather than wealthier women...that could be detrimental to what the bill was trying to accomplish...instead of lessening the burdan on public insurance this will icrease the demand for it because of the extra baby's being born...I stand corrected...kinda

On one hand I am completely against the whole abortion ordeal in the world. However, on the other hand, abortion is a way young teenagers can get out of having an unplanned baby. Killing little infants is not something our society should be getting used to but it has been around for so long, people have just gotten used to it as a prevention to pregnancy, which in reality its only creating more and more killers in the world.

This is the problem with abortion...instead of using our technology and advances as a good thing to save mothers who are medically in need of an abortion; or stopping a teenager or an adult from having a bastard child due to rape...we as a society only think about how it is used as a birth control...that is not what the procedure was meant to be...it was meant as a way to help women...for the women who are just having abortions for the heck of it that is rediculous...there are so many methods of birth control out there and condoms are sold at almost every gas station in america, that this discussion should not even be an issue
