Couples across the nation that were married in Massachusetts and then decided to move elsewhere are finding it quite hard to get their marriage annulled or even a divorce. Most states are having a hard time figuring out what to do. The laws state that laws pertaining to divorce only cover those that are between a man and a woman.
So what happens now? If the states change the laws on divorce would they not be recognizing same sex marriages and be forced to legalize it? Is this fair for the homosexual couples?

Fair would be for this to never have been an issue in the first place. Yes it would be fair of them to legalize divorces of homosexual couples. Yes that would mean they would have to recognize gay marriage and change the definition of marriage from "a union between a man and a woman," to "a union between two people." I think I just solved the problem for them. All they have to do is become open minded.

I that gay marriage should not even be allowed. However, if there is no way for the couple to get their marriage annulled or even get a divorce in another state, then they need to move back to where they were married. Then the problem will be fixed.
