Making children memorize one grade at a time.

The standards public schools use to teach reading, math and other subjects would become tougher, more detailed and more relevant at every grade level under a bill House Speaker Marco Rubio said Wednesday is one of the important pieces of education legislation in Florida's history. Is it the information that is the problem for our education system or the way the system works in the first place?

I feel like we are just learning how to memorize in schools. It isn't the information that is the problem it is the people teaching the information. We cannot think for ourselves anymore!!!

If the schools teach more in depth things to children when they are younger, then it will stick with them longer. I plan on becoming a teacher, and I've been to numerous board meetings pushing that the school system start teaching spanish in the 2nd grade. Young children are like sponges, and the language will stick with them longer and would be easier for them to learn fully.
