What do you think about legalizing the world’s oldest profession? There would be many benefits to the legalization of prostitution. Legalizing prostitution would make the transaction safer for the prostitute and the client and would also regulate STDs. Personally I am for the legalization of prostitution.

How would legalizing prostitution regulate STDs? I disagree because what kind of world do you really want to live in? A town with communities and parks or one with prostitute on the corner of every street.

First off, the prostitute on every corner thing is a nonsensical slippery slope. Just because something legal doesn't mean it would be unregulated. Like for instance, in Nevada, where prostitution is legal. It isn't legal to the point you can do anything. It's legal and you have to follow very strict regulations. And, Nevada has a low rate of STD infections.
I'm not saying it should or shouldn't be legal or talking about the morality of it, I'm just saying that in all modern industrialized democratic countries where it is legal, STD rates are lower because the government regulates the activity, much the way they regulate most other legal activity.
I don't feel like something like as bad as prostitution should be legalized. Would you really want something like that legal, so it would become more out in the open. Children don't need more of a chance to be exposed to something like that.

I do not think that prostitution should be legalized. Whether it is a woman or a man, they should be thrown in jail for practicing such acts. This is not a good thing, children would begin to think that selling your body is o.k. and it is not. There is nothing, to me, that would make legalizing prostitution o.k.
