Charlie Crist - Vice President?

I had heard at one time that Charlie Crist was a possible candidate to be McCain's running mate. I'm not sure that he has the foundation to truly be a leader on the national level. As Vice-President he would legitimately be in the position of running the country at some point and, as stated above, that causes some concern. Has anyone heard these rumors and do you have an opinion on his viability?

I haven't heard anything about him trying to become Vice President. I do think he is a very good gov. and seems to be getting things done for our state. Maybe he would be a good Vice President.

I heard rumors of that earlier in the primaries as well. I think it was on the radio. Crist wouldn't be a very strategic choice for McCain however, because what McCain really needs is someone who will somewhat appeal to democratic voters as well. Republicans got sort of a bad rap thanks to the Bush administration. I predict nothing will unfold between McCain and Crist. Maybe Condoleeza.

i heard the same thing. in all honesty i had never even heard of him till he became governor. For some reason i dont have faith in Governors running for president or vice president. They deal mostly with the state issues not national. Thats why Rudy Giuliani wasnt one of my first picks this year. Even though i do think he would make a better mate than a less experienced Christ.

McCain isn't going to pick Crist. McCain already catches a ton of heat for being to liberal and Crist is about as liberal as Republicans tend to get. I think it's more likely that McCain would chose Joe Lieberman than Crist.

Personally i think that McCain might be sabotaging himself if he picks Crist as his running mate...I do not think that he has done that well in Florida and to put in a federal position would be a disaster...

Christ is not the proper running mate for McCain and his advisers know that. McCain is not getting all the votes from the conservative religious voters. Christ would not help, but may attract a more liberal voter.
