Drinking Age

The national drinking age is an issue that is highly debated and especially popular among high school and college age people. Although I do not drink and would not choose to even if I could legally do so, I find this issue quite interesting. I think that lowering the drinking age to 18 may actually help the problem. If teens could drink at 18 it would be a lot less exciting as it seems when you are doing it illegally. Also less teens would be drinking in private places and getting wasted if they could just go out to the club and drink with friends and stuff. I don't think having the drinking age as 21 helps any so I don't see moving it down to 18 hurting anything. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

I think lowering the drinking age limit is a waste of time. I really don't think it will make any difference because teens can get a hold of alcohol so easily. Teens are going to do it regardless of what the age limit is.

I agree; because you can go and fight and die for a nation that put limits on wheter you can drink or not that system is crazy,we need change.

I do not think the drinking age should be lowered to 18. I think at 18 their is still a lot of growing up to do. Most 18 year olds are still making a lot of stupid decisions. Even though they can get their friends that are of age to buy them alcohol, at least they aren't sitting at some bar getting trashed then driving home and risking people's lives.

I think lowering the drinking age to 18 is not a good idea. Most of the people that are 21 still cannot be responsable. Rather being 18 or 21 people will find a way to get alcohol. I know I did.

i agree that it should not be lowered. At 18, teens are still making stupid decisions, not that 21 year old arent. I have a friend who just got in a car wreck yesterday because he was driving drunk, and he is 24. We all know that the legal age doesnt prevent underage drinking, but at least it reduces it.

I disagree, there are many countries that have lower drinking ages than our with significantly less underage drinking.

Also if you are legally an adult and can smoke, vote, and go to war than I don't see why you should not be able to go out to a bar and have a few beers with friends.

i think the drinking age should not be changed. Young adults under the age of 21 just arent responsible enough. But i do agree that kids are going to do what they want and if they chose to drink than thats their decision. They should jus be aware of the consquences and responsible that comes with it.

I think that the drinking age shouldn't be changed for the reason of teens being reckless, and we should have a age limit for drinking.

I think that the drinkign age will never be lowered, and I dont believe it should be. People wouldn not want to see younger kids getting a hold of alcohol who are not even close to being able to use common judgement with it.

I think that no matter the drinking age, kids will always want to expieriment with it. Either way they will get their hands on alcohol and lowering the drinking age is just opening a window for less mature young adults to abuse this substance

I think the drinking age should be lowered to 18. I do not see the reason why is is at 21 in the first place. I agree that i think teens will be less likely to drink if it was lowered. I think the excitment will be taken away from the situation and they would soon lose interest in doing so. Also i was in Europe for spring break and drinking over there is at 18 and they are so use to it that it is not a probolem.

Lowering the drinking age would make it so that more people would have alcohol related accidents earlier in life, but other then that there wouldn't be very much of a difference.
I am actually for removing the drinking age all together.

I do not believe that lowering the drinking age will cause young adults to drink less. However, I agree that a person who can drive, vote, go to war, and buy cigarettes (something that is killing Americans at an alarming rate) should definitely be allowed to purchase alcohol.

I don't think that the drinking age should be lowered to 18 that is a very bad idea and it would be crazy for that to be done. Underaged drinking is already a very big problem and it would only get worse to change things.
