There is a lot of uproar over a British teacher named Gillian Gibbons. She was sentenced for 15 days in a Sudan prision for allowing her students to name a teddybear Muhammad. It is against Islamic Sharia law to use the prophets name. The teacher could have gotten 40 lashes or six months in prison and a fine for this. If we want to compalin so much here in the U.S., I think we should start paying attention to what the people in other countries are being subject to. This is a harsh punishment for this teacher to have to endure.
Off the subject...why do I keep getting a pencil by my posts?

Heck I think it is a logical and fair punishment. The teacher named a toy playdoll after the great religous prophet Muhammad, has that bear done anything comparable to that great man? She should be asshamed, plus it's the law.
Yes as harris_zac said, she deserves to be punished. That is just stupid, she should know that is against the law. If we run around saying we have a gun we should be expecting police men to rush us any moment. Laws are laws, what she did was just stupid.
Why are we in America so conscerned with what goes on over seas. When here in are own home land children are being beatin and the tachers do not even recoginize the signs
I agree the punishment was too harsh, what about freedom of speech, is this not practiced over seas. Crime/mistreatment is everywhere and will never be avoided no matter where you live or who you are.
I agree. If you travel to another country you will be well served to understand the culture and observe the laws of that land. It really doesn't matter if Americans think the punishment is too harsh.
