Bird Flu

China has had another case of bird flu. China has had 26 cases of bird flu and out of the 26 17 have been fatel. I know that there is a huge alret to this bird flu but I am not getting it. Why is our government and the rest of the world so worried about somethibg that does not seem to be as serious as first expected? Is the government making a big deal for nothing or are they really just trying to prpare us incase in does eventually mutate to what they first thought it would?

Because it has the possibility to. Better to be cautious than to be completly shafted a few years down the road.

I agree, exactly what I was going to say, because of organizations like WHO, they alert everyone to potential dangers and it gets countries on the ball to take action.

If you doubt that the WHO works, think back to 1916/1917 or so, when the world faced the worst pandemic ever, the Influenza virsu, killed at least 25 million people. They didn't have the communication network that the world now has.

I thank my lucky stars that we have the U.N. and The World Health Organization.

In addition, the bird flu has shown up in Europe, Turkey and other places. It is also, I believe, airborne.

Those airborne viruses scary the living daylights out of me. So this is one we all really need to be careful of.
