Are we truly focusing on a better President?

Well, it's that time for a new President. Who will win? Are Americans really listening to what the candidates have to offer? In a way I feel that we are not listening to what the candidates are offering, but simply looking for a change. Change? Well, if Clinton wins she will be the first woman to be president. If Obama wins, well he's the first African-American to win. Do you think Americans are only focusing on ethnicity, and gender?

You have a good point, but to me, the answer is no, we are not just focusing in on change or firsts like a woman or African American as president.

However, if we really want to get some good candidates out there, we need to have more than just two strong parties.

Everyone is so afraid of voting for third party people because they dont want their Republican or Democratic counterpart to win.

I suppose thats how the two parties keep in power. Lets get some fresh ideologies in here, lets mix it up with some people with other points of view.

That is a good point you have made. It does seem like people are onlying seeing that it is a woman and an african american. However I think that people are listening. I know a lot of woman that would be happy for hillary making history, but don't think there going to vote for her. The same goes for Obama.

I absolutely think that Americans are focusing on gender and race. The good thing that I see in Clinton is that she has the experience in the White House that America needs. Obama, I think, is way too unexperienced as a whole. Maybe in 12 years he would be a good president but not now. If Clinton gets elected, America was not looking for a change because her husband was previously elected.
