banned cell phone use while driving

i think the government should ban cell phone use while driving . people should not be talking and driving at the same time.Way to many people are dying because people are talking on their cell phone and driving at the same time.

Banning cell phone use only leads to banning much more things such as eating while driving, drinking while driving and for some consversating with others while driving. I personally feel banning cell phones will not be the answer for car deaths, people in general need to pay attention and SLOW down in hazardous conditions. Speed is the #1 killer!

I got crashed into by a girl who was on her cell phone like 4 days ago, I completely agree that it impairs a person's ability to drive well. I understand that there are thousands of drivers who talk on their cell phones on a day to day basis, but many people still cant seem to grasp the idea that they are also handling a ton of steel at the same time. Of course there would still be accidents, but maybe more people would actually concentrate while on the road if cell phone use was illegal while driving.

I agree with the ban on cell phones while driving. I disagree with the first comment here that banning cell phones means other things will be banned.

When I see a driver go slow, miss a light, or seem unattentive to traffic, 99 times out of 100 that person is on the cell phone.

In all my years, I have never seen that with people eating, or talking to each other, or listening to music.

But this cell phone thing is way out of control. People just seem to forget where they are. Very dangerous.

I am all for a ban, other states have it. I am so tired of taking my life into someone else's neglectful hands.

By the way, for all you young people who think that you can't live without a cell phone, people were doing fine just a few short years ago without it.

Doesn't anyone value privacy and down time? The worst is when I go into a public bathroom and I hear a guy sitting at the toilet talking on the cell phone...That is gross! If someone did that to me, I would hang up. Shame on them!

I think that a law just was pass banning cell phone use while driving. I think that it takes awhile of course to in force the law, but I think it's a good thing. However if you have a bluetooth or some type of headset I think that's okay.

Personally, I have a little different opinion than a lot of you. I do not think the government has a right to restrict what I do in my vehicle, home, property, or anything else that doesn't directly harm someone. What they should do is come up with a different driving test...I swear, Florida has the WORST drivers I have ever seen...they are uncautious, pay no attention to laws, and can't drive if there is a drop of rain. I swear, if it snowed once here like it does back home, Floridians would die in droves!

I think your intentions are good in wanting cell phones banned while driving. However, this would be nearly impossible to inforce so the law would be pointless.
