Same sex aboptions

Same sex adoptions should be allowed. Why is it in Florida that same sex couples cannot adopted a child and give them a good home? Children are being left to forester homes when they could get a good home with a successful family. But because the couple is same sex the child is not allowed to live there with to perfectly capable parents. In America this could be viewed as forcing religion on that couple saying its wrong or violating their right to privacy and Bill of rights. Same sex should not matter if the they individuals adopting are qualified to adopt a child.

I am for same sex adoptions. Just b/c two people of the same sex are together it doesn't mean they are incapable of raising children. Society puts to much emphasis on who should be with who. Let God be the final judger not man.

I have not done any research on this subject however, kids will learn that their family life is different from other kids at school and they will have lots of questions. The other kids could also tease them mercilessly. Not to mention the values that they are learning in the home. I believe there is a reason two men can't have a child or two women can't have a child. It is not the societal norm and it could lead to long lasting issues for the child. It is not fair to the child in the long run.

I have always been on the fence about this question. I do believe that the foster care system is horrible and if a family can give a chid a good home them why not. On the other hand the child may be picked on and suffer more because of the parents. Then what would you teach the child about relationships?

My mother is an official on the board of education...I asked her what she thought and she told me that the reason adoption in same sex relationships is looked down apon is the psychological damage that it causes the child. These are including but not restricted to schitzophrenia, multiple personality disorder, chronic depression, and manic depression. Suicide is also much more prevalent.

I think adoption in same sex relationships should be okay. I was raised by my aunt who has a girl friend. Growing up I noticed that she never had men around but it had no affect on me, I think I turned out with a stright mind. As I got older I understood how life works. Some people like the opposite sex and some like the same.

I do not have a "black is power" in my gradebook, so I can't give you credit unless you put your actual name on posts and comments.

The scientific evidence rejects these claims. It shows that, on average, children raised in same-sex homes are less likely to suffer from these problems.

Suicide is more prevalent amongst homosexuals, but not amongst children raised by them.
