a 10 year old boy was tasered by police for leading cops on a wild goose chase when police finally caught the driver they tasered him only to find out it was a 10 year old boy. they should not have tasered him the boy is doing fine.

Cops should be punished for taking laws to such extrems. Tasers should only be used when a violent suspect is being persud.
These comments don't contain enough information in order for me to make a judgment one way or the other.

When cops overstep their boundaries they are often punished.
>Tasers should only be used when a violent suspect is being persud.
The original post does say "wild goose chase". I don't know what that means but the 10 year old could have very well been a violent suspect.
Depending on how the situation played out, the officer on scene may have thought it was reasonable under the circumstances to use the Taser. If the age of the offender was not known, the offender was tall for his age; the officer only saw his back as he was running away, etc. Often cops have mere seconds to make difficult decisions. Then the public, who never has all the facts, or doesn't have them correct, has all day to come to a decision as to whether the officer did the right thing or not.
Remember, you have the choice of suspending judgment about a claim until you have more evidence to support your decision.
When you commit a crime, you know the consequences before you commit the crime. This ten year old boy committed many adult crimes, and was dealt with like an adult. Why does anybody have a problem with that? If I were that kid, I would be glad they treated me like an adult, not just sat me in the back of a cruiser, called my parents and laughed at me. Bye the way, the parents should be prosecuted with the kid to the fullest extent of the law.
