Should we call our troops home?

When we mention the word war it makes some of us break into tears. I have lost the reason to why we are fighting in the first place. Are we fighting for a cause or are we fighting for President Bush? So many of us have lost love ones in this battle, to it is a shame. No more troops deserve to have there life ended in a senseless battle. Our fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, nephews, grandmothers, grandfathers, and grandkids need to be at home!

Undoubtly, at least in my opinion, we have endured possibly the worst person ever to act as president. George W. Bush is bound to go down in history way on the bottom of presidential rankings.

However, we have gotten ourselves in a bit of a mess, and pulling out isn't as easy, although, I agree with you wholeheartedly, save our brothers and sisters, sons and daughters for a fight that really matters, not just about corporate greed.

We are at a turning point in history, and mark my words, if things don't turn around after this next election, then head for the hills, because if you stick around, you'll have front row seats to the apocalypse.

This war supposedly started over September 11th. Or at least, that is about the time it offically began. I agree, it has been going on so long, I do not even understand what we are doing over there anymore. I support the war, I support the country, I support the troops and I believe in helping other countries. I just think whatever we are doing over there is taking way too long to get done.

The war wasn't actually about 9/11, it was about the idea that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

I don't think the question is whether or not to bring our troops home it's how. I've heard them talk in the news and in some of history class about pulling troops out. The problem is if you start pulling troops out the troops that are temporarily left behind don't have the protection that large numbers give them. Also, if we pull out now how do we look to other countries? Weak! What will all the lives that were lost have been for? Nothing! The lives lost would be for weapons of mass destruction that don't exist. We stay to set up a democracy and to help establish a stable government, but many of them want us to leave so they can run their country. I support bring our troops home I just don't know how it chould be done.

I concede to everyone about bringing our troops home. I don't agree with how our government uses our troops and we are too quickly becomming a global police force, which is a dangerous stance to take. My only thought is, if not the United States, who? Iraq did have weapons of mass destruction. He chose not to let UN inspectors in to check if they were dismantled. What you may, or may not know is the kind of mindless torture that Saddam's military put the people of that country through. In my Business Law class at Kent State, we watched a film put out by the federal government that was not aired that showed special forces filming the streets of Baghdad. The attrocities that are supposed to be hushed even in war were filmed right in the middle of the streets against Iraq's own citizens. Public beatings, assassination style shootings, unprovoked rape, the list goes on and on. I believe that the government used the nuclear and biological card to sway public support, but I believe the real reason we went into Iraq was on a humanitarian mission, and did you see how happy people were when we overthrew Iraq? You think the people gave a "darn?" about nuclear and biological arms? No! They were tired of being abused and killed!
