In Tehran, Iran during last weeks presidential elections Iran's government banned international journalists from covering election rallies. The government also blocked access to some online communication tools. Reporters for international news outlets could talk about the rallies in their live reports but were not allowed to leave their hotel rooms and offices. I do not believe that the government should have the power to control its people and block the whole country from the world. I think people should have the freedom to talk to their relatives that live in other countries whenever they want. They should not be restricted or told when and what time they are allowed to use certain websites and make phone calls.

no it is not fair, it is slavery. In the united states the african american can relate to what is being done.as wrong as it was for it to be done here it is equally wrong elsewhere. is this something actionable by the u.s. would it be in the best intrest of our government to intervene? i dont know which way i feel on this.

As a medium of mass communication, the media is the one of the most prominient outlet and method of transmitting information. What I think is a major issue is not the restriction on communication, but the blatant and obvious attempt by the Tehran to fix the election. The realization that your adminstration is unpopular and ineffective to the piont where the only way you can get re-elected is through malfeasance. How did they really think there would not be a backlash to this. I will presume to diagnose the matter as: sheer incompetence. In the end this will not stand you can not censor the internet this I boldly state as a fact.

No they shouldn’t be aloud to do this, it’s not right. It’s a different world over there. Reading this article really makes me appreciate all the freedoms we have in the United States.
