Last Friday, Obama signed a historic bill which, he hopes, will prevent teen smoking. The new bill will put even more regulations on tobacco. No more light flavored or "candy" flavored cigarettes are allowed to be sold. They will also feature bigger warning labels, much like Canada's, which show pictures of what happens to your internal organs when you smoke. I think they are going way to far with this one. We are already well aware of the dangers of smoking.

I agree with you on this. Smoking is a terrible thing yet as Americans we have rights to chose what we want to do. In creating more regulations and 'sin taxes' our rights as Americans are being taken away. As I said before smoking is terrible and by no means am I pro teen smoking yet it's our right to chose what we do with our bodies and I'm angered that the government is taking away our American right to do what we want with our bodies.

the government isint taking anything away from anyone. u still have the right to buy the pack with all the warnings. I actually applaud the governments efforts on this issue. if it takes scare tactics to keep the teen smoke rate down, by all means do it. i think this is worth it simply for the possibility of saving lives.

This is a little bit ridiculous and unnecessary to do. This is too much government control. If he wants to prevent kids from smoking he should fund more programs that educate kids on the effects of tobacco.

Agreed, educating teens on smoking is sufficient, there is no need for further measures against tobacco in my opinion. Part of freedom is choice, if the government takes any more measures against tobacco they might as well make it illegal.

I agree this is rather far. I can understand the banning of flavored tobacco. There is no need to put anything fuit to make the smoke better to deal with. But the pictures of what your lungs will look like, that is way to much. As a grown up if I smoked I wouldn't want see that.
