Gay Rights

When will American come to the understanding that some people are gay. Why would anyone conceive of not giving our fellow Americans the same rights we all share. It disgust me that we have legalized gay discrimination throughout our country. This is an issue that both Republicans and Democrats need to work together to change now.

America has a long way to go, but I believe we are a progressive society, especially with Obama in office. Eleven states plus D.C. have legalized some sort of gay marraige or civil unions in America.

I agree, the movement will take sometime but it will happen. The gay rights movement has been making headway for sometime now. We will see gay rights equal the rest of society's in our lifetime.

America will never fully come to that understanding. Every person has their own opinion and some people just don't agree with people being gay. It's not right. It was intended for one man and one woman to unite in marriage. The world will never come to a mutual understanding and gay marriage will probally not be legalized for a long time.

I am glad someone posted this. There is no explanation for gays not having certain rights in our society. I do think we are well on the way to equal rights though.

Obama has to use his executive order to allow gays in the military. The Don't ask Don't Tell policy seems outdated and childish.

Gay people should have almost the same rights as everyone else. I still don’t believe that they should be aloud to marry since it is a bond between a man and women. I do believe that gay people should be aloud to have a civil union which allows them to have the same privileges as married people.
