Sean Taylor's tragic death

Sean Taylor's tragic death sould be a reminder to us all that life is short and that athletes and celebrities are targeted for their wealth. On the field athletes are bonded together as brothers and off the field the bond remains just as strong.

Sean Taylor's death was truly a tragedy. He was attacked at his house (which is in a gated community), that also has an alarm system. It saddens me to hear of young people losing their lives due to other people's decisions. It's ridiculous. Someone's life should not have to end just because another person thinks it should. With people these days, good security is not enough. You have to have excellent security. Your home is supposed to be your domain. With threatening people around such as Sean Taylor's killer, people have to secure their homes with superb alarm systems, bolts and locks on the doors, motion scensors, dogs, and panic rooms all for one house alone. Why should people have to need these things? Personally, a home must not be as safe as people think it is if it needs all that protection.

We go to greater extremes when it comes to our countries security. Your not even able to carry over a certain amount of your own money to any other country without telling the airport the reason first. Are luggages are checked thoroughly, occasionally we have to take off our belts and always our shoes. My brother is no celebrity by no means and he has already taken all of those measures in securing himself and his wife. His gated community is also guarded day and night by 'armed' guards. He has even bought himself a gun for extra protection. Securing yourself may be different to others, but my family has lived all over United States and security is important at all times.

It is sad for such a young and gifted player to die, but a small percent of players have a gangster mentality. I am not saying that this was the case with Sean Taylor. However, it has been the case with several others this year and past like Tank Johnson and Pac-man Jones.

The "gangster mentality" has nothing to do with Sean Taylor's death. God has the plan for all of us whether our mentality is gangster, country boy, city boys, Christians, etc. He lived in a gated community. I mean how "gangster" is that. Sean Taylor's death was TRULY a tragedy. It is similiar to the death of the DJ in Dothan, not to long ago. He was also shot. How many people do we have to lose? How many different races or classes do we have to see die before we realize that death is going to happen to each and every one of us? Look at where we go to school. In Marianna, at American Legion, they have shot guns like they are toys within the last two months. It just gets closer and closer to home. Not long ago, in the community of Bethelehem, in Holmes County, we watched on the news where a young man by the name of Wendell Kirch aka Butch was shot and died later from his gunshot wounds. I dont think he had a "gangster mentality". It just happens everywhere.

The NFL player recives more highlights then the President. Why is everyone focused on him. We need to focus on the real issues in life like health care

Another senseless crime has taking one of our brothers. When are blacks going to realize that we need to unite as one instead of dividing. Its a shame what money will make you do
