This is ridiculous! Why isn't the government doing anything to stop the sell of prescription drugs online? This is a dangerous game that many are playing with their lives and livelihoods. Doctors are filling prescriptions over the Internet for patients they have never met. Sadly enough, this article highlights the death of a man that was ordering prescription drugs online. How many more people have been victims of online pushers? Although these doctors aren't just giving away the drugs, they are filling orders to dangerous requests that can ruin lives. Why can't the government do something to shut down these websites and stop these doctors?

For some reason AOL deleted it, but I found it on CNN. Sorry!
This is crazy. If people can't go to the doctor or clinic and get medication from their doctors, they should not be allowed to order medications online.People that are ordering these drugs are playing a dangerous game.I think a law should be pass to remove all online medications.

First of all, read the article. (http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/05/21/online.drugs/index.html?iref=newssearch)
Then you need to ask yourself this question: Whose fault is it, really? THE PEOPLE ORDERING THE DRUGS WITHOUT PRESCRIPTIONS, AND THEN TAKING THEM.
The man who died in the article was taking "8 to 9" muscle relaxers EACH NIGHT. Who thinks that is a great idea? His wife also admits that he "had become an addict." It's his own fault that he died.
There was also the sister of the reporter. She ordered the prescriptions drugs because she "wanted to die." She KNEW EXACTLY what she was doing.
Darwin Awards, people...
So far everyone thinks the government should stop this. What you're saying is that you want the government to protect people from themselves. (Maybe we should outlaw McDonald's because people can't stop gorging themselves and become obese.) Personally, I think my tax money could be better spent elsewhere.
It's commonsense, people. Don't take drugs not prescribed by YOUR doctor. Plain and simple.
-Audrey Nichols, POS1041, Section 5
Even though these people are a danger to themselves, you shouldn't be able to buy prescription drugs offline! Both parties are at fault, and I rather my tax money be spent on saving an idiot's life that buys drugs offline, then killing and losing innocent lives in a lost cause....

What difference does it make to have a prescription filled from a local pharmacy or an ONLINE pharmacy, as long as it was written by a doctor in the first place?
-Audrey Nichols, POS1041, Section 5
But it's not an online pharmacy, its random websites. Doctor's are filling these orders not pharmacists.

American should not be allowed to purchase prescriptions online no matter what the case may be. If your doctor prescribes a medication for you don’t order it online for the simple fact one you know not what they are sending you, how do you know it’s the right pill or liquid. Whose ever is sending the medication could lace it up with something deadly and you do even now it. Yes! The government should band all online drug sites and let it be known that this is not safe or secure.
