Schwarzenegger for President?

I think it's great that Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to run for president, it's very ambitious of him and that's a pretty high goal to set. Too bad he'll never be able to achieve it. Schwarzenegger can't run for president even if he wanted to because he wasn't born in the U.S.! And, I highly doubt that Congress is going to propose we amend the Constitution just so he can run. I'm sorry but I don't think that he did a very good job as governor of California and I don't think he'd do a very good job of running our country. I also would never support any type of amendment that would change the requirements for becoming president. I don't think it would be right to amend the Constitutional requirements for president. I think that the president of America should be a natural born American.

If im not correct he is not even from the United States. Honestly I think he got the governor job of Cali just because of his celebrity status. PRESIDENT..... That should be out the question. But it would be cool to hear him say live on the podium "I'll be back"

The same thing occured with Reagan. Remember he was an actor too.

I think he did a fine job in California. He pulled their bottoms out of the financial fire. Yes, he made some harsh decisions, but they were necessary. He has managed to help turn around their entire financial budget and prevent the entire state from declaring bancruptcy. How is that not doing a good job?

Considering the amount of dedication he put forth in his life and all his amazing accomplishments, I'm not surprised that many of my friends say they would vote for him if only they could. He was Mr. Olympia seven times, became a famous actor, is now the Governor of California. He's the type of person who can set his mind to a task and achieve great results. I think most people look at his persona and his acting career, but I think he'd be a good candidate given the chance.

I highly agree with you on this issue with Arnold. I think that it is amazing that he even became governor in the first place. I don't think that he has any place in the White House.

I do agree that becoming governor of California is a great accomplishment, but the White House is no place for the "Governator"

Ya, I agree with you. It would not be right to chage the requirements for presidency. Nice blog entry!

I am mixed on Arnold as a politican. He can be fairly wishy-washy with his ideas not unlike Bush. Arnold makes national news because of his celebrity status so as a politican he is more scrutinized than other governors. It is unfortunate cause he does seem to act on what he believing at the time but is he doing what his constituents want. I am not so sure.
