I saw that on a T-shirt and it made me laugh. The truth is until last spring in ENC 1102 I had no idea what global warming was nor did I care. It took one movie called An Inconvenient Truth and one great man named Al Gore to press the issue on me. The movie made me realize that in about fifty years all of our world's polar ice caps will melt. Did anyone know that polar bears are drowing to death from the lack of ice caps to rest on?
Here are some other facts:
1. Deaths from global warming will double in just 25 years -- to 300,000 people a year.6
2. More than a million species worldwide could be driven to extinction by 2050.
3. Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide.
Just thought I'd share this information, ya'll can decide for yourselfs how you feel about this issue.

I would just also like to point out the fact where you mentioned the global sea levels could rise more than 20 feet. This is a very serious problem because think about all the people who own beach houses on the coast or people who may own houses near big lakes and other big bodies of water. All the roads and the homes are going to be destroyed which also directs our attention to more traffic in areas where the seas have reconstructed themselves. This is going to be a lot of work to recovery from and it is not going to be easy.
This is scary. But its the truth. As a society we should take things like this serious because some of the major effects are during our generation time frame.
