N.Y times wants troops back....

The N.Y times wants the U.S Troops to return home because they feel that the fight is still a lose lose situation. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/usiraqmedia;_ylt=AqDK3p1AcChTBmnIVNxBJKkDW7oF
I agree Bush is set on the fact that we as a country will come out victorious but this war has been going on for years now and I dont see any progression nor positive outcomes. Alot of troops are dying for this country. I agree with the Times, this is a battle of lose lose outcomes. What do you think?

I think that this war is another Vietnam. Though Vietnam wasn't a war it was a conflict, but it was a conflict that our national leaders did not want to lose because America is great and doesn't lose anything. Vietnam is a bad scar for this country and tainted many high level political leaders. I'm sad to say that this war in Iraq is doing the same thing, and this war will be a open wound on this country for many years to come.

Wars are not easy. Never have been. In our society we it everything and we want it now. vietnam was lost because politics started rearing its ugly head and but in were it doesn't belong. Same thing here. We need to treat Iraq like in ages past massive man power insurgence. We haven't done that yet. It may seem that way but it hasn't if you look at it from the historical perspective. We had three times more people in Germany during WWII than in Iraq today. Why? We don't have that many people in the military now. We just can't cut and run either. These are people who have never had as much freedom as they do now. They don't know what to do with it or how to use it. It is our responsibility to teach them the meaning of freedom. Otherwise we have Haiti on our hands and they are a lot more dangerous than the Haitians are.

Yes, this have been a war that I dont think we are ever going to have victory over unless someone decides on some dramatic changes. We are too much at risk to keep fighting especially when so many countries have nuclear bombs including us. Our soliders are out there fighting for our protection, and they are dieing because of it when there is nothing good coming out of it.
