9/11 has scarred America
Today during evening rush hour in downtown NYC a steam pipe exploded sending steam and mud everywhere. The panic and memories that this event brought to local New Yorkers is only a glimpse of the damage that will remain for years to come thanks to 9/11. This is not the first time that a steam pipe has exploded in NYC, caused by water condensation on the inside of pipe, one occurred in 1989 and killed 3 people. But since 9/11 everything is taken more seriously; after the incident the spokesperson for the NYPD assured the public that the expolsion was NOT terrorism related. I think that it'll be a very long time, maybe never before people stop jumping to "it's a terrorist attck!" anytime something happens. Some people say that it's been 6 years it's time to move on, but that's a lot easier said than done.

I totally agree with the remarks of this incident. 9/11 was a day that this country will in fact probably never be able to forget and explosions like this would make people think that it was a possible terrorist attack just because that is how people are going to react since the incident of 9/11. Everyone is still scared and we don't know what might happen in the future.
I don't think that 9/11 is a day that any American will be able to forget, it changed history and the American people. I think it opened up our eyes to see how some parts of the world view America. I think that the government should do anything possible to try and stop this from happening again. I don't think that those people over reacted I would feel the same way if I lived in New York City
I agree with Emily, and nicole
people will not for get what happend on september 11. I too think that the government should do anything to prevent this or something like it from happing.
The media is not helping us cope with the events of 9/11 by constantly reminded us of that day and how it could happen again everytime something explodes. The Bush administration jumps all over this media tactic to induce their own form of scare tactics. Unfortunately, for the rest of history, we will be in a constant fear of terrorism thanks to this circular action.
