Global Warming again??

I don't understand why people keep harping on the global warming issue. It has been happening though out history. Reference NSF. It is nothing new. Why does everyone keep trying to maintain status quo for the climate? Do we have some responsibility for the pollution that has occurred this past century? Certainly. So does Mount St. Helens for blowing her top in the 80's. Are we trying to clean up her mess too? How about Mt. Kilauea has been erupting for the past 20 years are we going to be responsible for that too? The earth has been more polluted in the past than we have created our selves. The whole global warming issue is another politicians terrorist strategy to cause fear in us and get another vote.

Well it may not seem like a big deal right now but, when things start to really change dramatically like for example the overflowing of oceans into cities off the coasts of the United States, we will all be concerned. In my opinion when something has become an issue, we can't just ignore it until it shows up in our faces. We are going to have to do things about it now to help prevent the situation to appear more quickly just like Kemo therapy may give an individual a couple more years to live if they are dieing from cancer. If we do things to gradually prolong global warming then we can be better prepared for when it really becomes a smack in the face and we can no longer put if off.

Maybe you should check out the live earth campaign. Did you get to see any of the footage of the concert on 7/7/07? Even if you do not agree with the effects it is very simple to change little things around you.

If you build in an area that is prone to water damage then I'sorry you did it to yourself. You don't build on a flood plane. You don't build in a lahar path. You don't build on a fault line. This is just plain common sense. You don't pratice it, it will bite you in the bottom.

I am all for cleaner living, but I am not responsible for those that make poor choices in where they build. No sympathy from me.

This statement engages in several logical fallacies, most notably the ad hominem and burden of proof fallacies.

While it is true that there have been periods of global warming historically, they took place over much longer periods of time. Also keep in mind, that we are currently supposed to be in a cooling trend according to the historical record and yet we are in a warming trend.
