Brown Vs. Board
When the changes to the Brown Vs. Board of Education was passed, I really did not put much thought into it but along with my government class I have an African American Literature class and after watching a long video on slavery and the mistreatment of the African American race, I started thinking about it hard. Honestly, the ruling should have not been altered in my opinion. For one, I have attended school of many different cultures and although slavery has come to a halt and racism is low, serperation is still thriving but very little. I feel that this will broaden it.I feel that as people we should be united. Little alteration like the one recently made can slowly but surly bring society back to seperation. I dont believe in serparate but equal.....I believe in equal and unity. I dont want society to come back to the state of having all black schools and all white schools. Then some groups will have poor education and education settings. This will just back track on all the hard work done to bring us as a people back together.

That is so true. If we go back to having predominately black schools and white schools, then that would be defeating the purpose that African Americans have been fighting for since the time of slavery. Martin Luther King Jr. lost his life trying to get integration in schools, and it would be truly sad if everything he fought for was torn to pieces. We are all the same color when the lights go off, and I believe that God meant for all of us to live together in peace and harmony.

I believe that both of you are valid in your thinking ...however, the Supreme Court did not competely revoke the ruling only a portion. And besides whether the ruling is revoked or not school age kids, especially in the middle and high school levels seperate themselves in groups based on race simply out of habit. Sure we interact with each other but in the end to most people black is still black and white is still white and it's wrong but it's the way our society works.
Statistics show that we are actually more segregated by race than we were during the days of Jim Crow. The big difference now is that a lot of it is either by choice or done illegally, when in the past it was illegal or forced.
