What an interesting conversation
Last night I watched the Anderson Cooper 360 show on CNN. He had two very interesting informers on , one of them, Mr. David Gergen (former presidential advisor). The headlined topic for discussion was the "Extreme Challenges, the Next four years". On the topic of our economy, they outlined a couple of reasons why we are going into recession. First off, the world is changing dramatically with the advances of technology. Now, we are becoming a global economic society. Scary and intimidating I know. David mentions, "Technology is now flowing from West to East, and the WORLD is playing the game of capitilism. The central challenge for America is now, how to offer enough to stay competitive." On the topic of energy independence, David says " Scientist say action needs to be taken on carbon edmissions and stabilized within the next 5 years". He also mentioned that India and China signed contracts for 850 dirty coal fired plants to be built in 2012. How are we supposed to get ahead in this fight against global warming when 80% of the carbon problem will be flowing through the air from the western hemisphere. Their discussion gave me alot to think about and makes me want to hope for strength, most of all, in our next leader of this country.

I don't know how much our new or old president could effect there mine on this issue. We will some how end up being the one to sell them the coal.
Maybe America can become an example if we can get our act cleaned up. If we find alternatives to dirty coal and gasoline, maby we will influence the rest of the world to change for the better to. I also hope for strenght in our upcomming leader.
Brittani York,If they have already signed a contract to build then they must go forward with the contract or they will have to fork out major money.
