McCain and troops overseas...

Let’s hypothetically say McCain wins the upcoming Presidential election, now with all of his military serves and being a former Prisoner of War, do you believe the troops over seas will continue to stay over there and attempt to fight for freedom or will they be brought back home?

I personally believe that he will most likely leave them over there for at least 2.5 more years. He will continue to say that their independence is not complete yet.

I believe with him being an x prisoner of war and his time spent in the military he is going to pull the troops out of Iraq

cbishop, McCain has said that he will stay in Iraq for as long as it takes. More recently he has projected that we will remain in Iraq for the next five years.

I feel that McCain will not bring the troops out of back home.

I think just because he know what it is like being in a war due to his time spent in the military he will bring our troops back home. This has gone on long enough.

McCain has stated on many occasions that he will leave the troops in, and probably send more until Iraq can be manageable by Iraqi forces. If we come back now it will be a complete failure and a waste of time.

I feel that he will not bring the troops back immediately. I think he will leave them over there, but it will not be as long as Bush has.

Without a doubt, Catherine. The sad part is if we bring them back too early we leave a vacume for potential invasions from other countries into Iraq.

We are not in Iraq to fight for freedom. We are in Iraq because war fuels the economy. We will stay over there are long as we want to eat steak for dinner.

That is a very narrow minded statement, and truth by declaration. There can be many reasons negative as well as positive on why we are in Iraq still. I, for one am glad we went over there. You may think a 4,000 death toll is terrible, which it is. This toll of 4,000 people is in no way, shape, or form as devastating as Saddam Hussein's regime as dictator of Iraq. I don't even think it can be counted the number of people that have died because of that man.

I think McCain has made it very clear that he will keep the troops over in Iraq. He wants to try to end the conflict that is in the Middle East but what we need to realize is that conflict has been going on since the beginning of time and will be going on a long time after all of us has passed on. It will never end.
