What's Going on With 2008 Elections

Is McMain too old to be running for President? McMain is in his early 60's. This election is a very interesting on. We have a battle between age, gender, and race. There's an African American, a woman, and an older man. Many people that usually vote are saying that they're going out to the polls and vote this November.

I agree alot of minoritis are taking advantage of this election. To see another race and then a diferent genders makes you believe that there willbe a twist in the white house when one of them wins

Thanks again Turner but you did not answer the question. The question asked "IS MCCAIN TOO OLD TO BE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT?" Come on 60/70 he is still old what can he do? This man need to just relax and play with his grandchildren and great grands.

I think McCain is too old, I know people around the age of 70 who forget a lot of things and I wouldnt want them to be running our country. However there are also a lot of olders folks who are still very bright so I guess it just depends on the person.

This election is very unique in that sense. I believe that this election will be a turning point on America's views on politics

I don't think his age a matter, just like how being black or female doesn't matters when it comes to being a prez. Why do people always focus on things like that?

Conway, age is nothing but a number, if he is in good mental and physical health then what's the down side? They can only serve for 8 years max.

Turner in eight years this man will be 80 that's old. He should be somewhere relaxing, enjoying the rest of his years on this earth.

First off let me say I have nothing against elderly people and that I am both a woman and black, a double minority in America. I usually say age doesn't matter and am very supportive of people giving older folks jobs, but the presidency is a much more challenging job than bagging groceries at publix. Although, McCain has the experience I feel like that might actually hinder him. He could just be another old, white male president who plays underhanded politics and gets caught up in the traditions of Washington rather than doing whats best for America. Also I think he won't be able to relate to the rest of America which isn't as old as him and have a whole new system of beliefs than what was popular in his heyday.

Ronald Reagan was 80 when he won the presidency. John McCain may not be a movie star, but he has some of the most horrific military experience any soldier should endure. I have an idea of who Obama is, but probably no more than he does. Hilary Clinton might be a little too liberal for the times our nation is about to face. John McCain seems like a likely choice for me, but it has nothing to do with race, gender, or age.

The media wants us to focus on race, age, and gender, but as we have learnt in class, these are irrelevant when it comes to the presidency. First and foremost, we should be looking at each candidate's skills and abilities to do the job. Do they have the knowledge, expertise, experience and character to be a good president? We need to look past the fluff that the media throws at us. It is distracting from the more important facts.

The 2008 Presidential election is a toss up. Many people are focusing on small details like age, race, and religion, when they should be looking more towards past decisions and new plans of action.
