National Geographic showed a short film called Explorer: Inside North Korea, where a few American cameramen followed an Asian doctor to North Korea where he performed eye surgery to a thousand blind people in a week. Here I have a few of the clips, courtesy of youtube.com.
After viewing these clips, how do you feel? This is my main question. Seeing how prison camps treat human beings, how these people ended up in prison camps, how the 'dear leader' treats his countrymen during famine while he sat on millions of dollars, and which had true faith, and which acted out of fear. If our country were to go to war with these people in order to free them, or do anything that involved helping North Korea, how would you feel? How would you voice your opinion to our government?
If you are to answer these questions or add any statements more, you will need to watch both clips fully.

"We better not go to war with them!! They will kill us all!! Not no, but HELL NO! YOU go if YOU want to!! I'll stay here where it's safe!!!"
That is exactly how I would voice my opinion to our government!!
Listen, it's horrible how the people in those camps are treated but from those clips..it's too late for them. They've been brainwashed since they were tiny babies..it's too late. If we tried to move into North Korea they would take us out the game entirely!! If we want to help, we can just like drop some food out of an airplane or something and keep going but I wouldn't even recommend that! Those folks are crazy!
If somebody in that country wants out they better smuggle in a map and follow the big dipper or something!! Anybody can call me insensitive if they want to. I don't fool with crazy people who talk about "killing every american enemy because I can see!!" I'm all for standing up for the little people but I think I'll have to let this one slide!
There are reports of cannibalism coming out of N. Korea...human flesh (reportedly that of children)being sold on the blackmarket. US food aid being stolen and also sold on black market. People are starving because dear leader has taken the most fertile farmland for the production of opium, the proceeds of which support his relatively oppulent lifestyle as well as his military. We could devastate N Koreas military in short order if we were to fight an all out offensive. Could justify said offensive by ridding the world of another tyrant, one could even argue that the massive civilian casualties that would result would be more humane than suffering them to live as they are. The world already hates us for being self righteous a-holes...might as well do it...fry N Korea, spread "bright light" in a dark land. Tactical nukes for all of the military bases, conventional weapons and ground troops for the rest of the country...go ahead and light up Iran while we're at it, then ask the rest of the world who wants to be next? If they think we are crazy enough to do it to anyone who shows aggression, would probably result in world peace. Act like a real super-power...terrify everyone into being nice. All it would cost is our souls...we have the nukes and they are getting old anyway! What greater love hath a nation than to be willing to stand in hell so the rest of mankind can live in peace? :-) Of course I'm kidding...maybe...so far as you know...
It's looking at children who were born in a prison camp for something their family did and watch them fight over corn that's been expelled from a cow. It's imagining what would happen if you were to escape to freedom and know for a fact your family was going to be killed or shoved into a prison camp. It's knowing you have no outside source to help you, no one is brave enough to help you, and no one cares enough to help you. Knowing that there is no escape from your dear leader, while you starve he sits on millions and you have to stare at his face on the wall where you would rather have your children's portraits but never will.
Of course we're not going to do anything, we're far too busy.
That put a chill in my bones. Reminds me of 1984. I'm not so sure these people don't want to be rescued. They could just be doing everything in their power not to be killed. It seems to me that a war in N. Korea would have been more justified than the war in Iraq.
As a military man I went to South Korea, it is a world of difference. As an American in South Korea all we thought about was breif training, women and partying most of us never put our self in any of their shoes. When I was there it was so cold that the thought of being in N Korea and poor & hungry, it would be to harsh to bare! If we did any thing to them we would have to wipe out 80% or more of the country, civilans and all if not it would be just like Vetnam was. These people has lived in fear for so long that they have become brain washed and would do almost anything for their leader because they fear for life it self.
US better not go to war with North Korea because they will win. They are trained killers like rambo. Evenworse, they have no feelings, so if one of those warriors caught you in a head lock, a civilzed person would stop from empathy, but a North Korean will not stop and go after your spirit after you die. A living hell!
