Religious Veiws in The Presidential Race

I recently read in an article sunday night that instead of the two democratic presidential candidates talking about issues like economics and politics both of them took the time the share their stance on religion. Both of them said that they are the type of person that beleive that religion is very important in our society and that they are both religious. However, I feel that the speeches made by these two candidates are not entirely true and are only using these religious veiws in order to take away votes that would usually side with a republican candidate.

The important thing in this presidential race are issues, but yet they concentrate on things that are irrelevant. We already have freedom of religion, so what else are we trying to cover here?

But can you back this opinion up with anything other than your partisanship?

I do not understand why there is a separation of church and state in our country, yet our presidential candidates find it so important to share their religious views. It should not matter to anyone what they feel about religion. Only thier opinion on matters that will directly affect how they run the country should be of concern.

Religion should not play a factor. Many people get confused with Barack Obama's name and think he is a Muslim. He is a Christian and that should not matter anyways. People should focus on policies and plans of action.
