Don't buy Gas Day

Everyone needs to stop planning these pointless "Don't buy gas days". You still have to buy it the day after and before and no matter what you always will. Even if you don't taxis and buses need to fill up daily as well. At the time there is nothing we can do to change the price of gas, we just need to get more fuel economical modes of transportation.

I agree that all of these plans to not buy gas on certain days or from certain makers are ridiculus. I disagree, however, with your statement that "there is nothing we can do to change the price of gas." If we rely less on gas by taking advantage of hybrid technology, carpooling, and other gas saving methods I believe it will effect the price of gas. It will not, as some claim, drive gas prices below like $2.00 a gallon but it will help.

There will never be a dont buy gas day. To get everyone to stop is a long stretch. Maybee if we stop on buying suvs, hummers and oversized pick-ups, that could help.

yea it would be impossible to have everyone stop from buying gas on a single day. Besides it wouldn't do a thing, one day is not enough to bring them under. I would estimate that it would take at least a week of no gas purchases, and that is obviously even more impossible. People should invest in hybrid, electric, or even ethanol cars to reduce our oil dependence.

A dont buy gs day will never happen because of nation is to dependent on gas for transportation and energy. One thing we can do is people should invest in hybrid, electric, or even ethanol cars to reduce our oil dependence.

I do agree with you cause it won't do anything cause you will have to buy gas eventually and give them your money anyway. My mom did that once but I did not drive then but its funny now when I think about it.

I think that this day will never come. The big gas companies only care about long term gains, one day will not have any affect.

Even if every person in America participated in this stike it would not even phase the big gas compainies. They look at the bigger picture and when it boils down to it, vehicles that rely on gas, at least for now are here to stay.

I think that the idea of not buying gas for a day is crazy because it's not going to do anything. If I was about to run out of gas on this day am I supposed to just keep driving like a dummy and run out of gas? Seems like to me not buying gas for one day will only make you spend more the next day.
