Mass Graves discovered in Iraq
In an article on CNN's webpage I read that there has been mass graves found all over Iraq. Recently there was one found containing 20 dead bodies near a small town. The military stated that," it is probably about eight months old and that these people we most likely killed by Saddam Hussein." Reading this article just proves even more that the United States was right when they decided to take Hussein from power. It is our duty as one of the world's strongest countries to stop other mass murderers no matter how unpopular we become.

This is a sad topic and i agree that it was a great decision to take saddam from power. Saddam used to conduct mass murders of small towns in iraq and the more they search the more graves they might find.
I agree, but why not do the same with other countries. The U.S. government did not do this for the people of Iraq. The purpose of this was to gain something from Iraq (it could have been oil, land, who knows). Lets take the incident that is still occuring at Dafur in Africa. Genocide is currently going on in that area and the only thing the U.S. can do is publish the stories. As for Saddam Husein, lets take a good look at hime. He indeed conducted mass murders, but was he an actual threat to the U.S. (besides restricting THEIR OWN oil). What attacks did he actually conduct in homeland? Bush states that there's weapons of mass destruction in the area. Have we found any...? With that being, since we've moved into Iraq, the death ratio has climbed dramatically. So in my opinion, we've just made it worst.
I agree that as a country of high power it is our responsibility to help others in need around the world. The sad part about that is that we can not help everybody in need and sometimes, such as the War in Iraq, it back fires aginst us.

I agree, Saddam Hussein was an evil tyrant that needed to be dealt with HOWEVER, why wasn't this done so over 10 years ago with the Turkish bombings when thousands were murdered by the hands of Mr. Hussein? I'll tell you why because America need Saddam at that time and getting rid of him was not necessary. So we closed our eyes and wished him away, which he did not! So, this whole war seriously seems quite hypocritical to me. If we didn't take him out of power years ago when he was killing thousands why was it so important to remove him at all?
Several problems with this post. First off, if you quote an article or refer to it, you are required to link to it. Second, Hussein didn't kill anybody eight months ago, he's been dead for more than a year. Third, they have not found mass graves "all over" Iraq. Finally, we pick and choose which mass murderers to go after based on other reasons beside the murder. China kills more innocent people every year than any other country. When are we going to war with them? We're not, we're going to the Olympics in China. Uzbekistan boils political dissidents in oil. When are we invading them? Never, they're one of our top allies in the region.
Wow, Mr. Quinnell, well said!
