Yesterday it was reported that North Korea had conducted an underground nuclear weapon test. Shortly after North Korea fired three ballistic missles off of the cost. According to the Los Angeles Times, North Korea has conducted five missile launches this week.
President Obama has been meeting with other countries to put strict sanctions on North Korea. China, Japan, Russia, and South Korea are working together to develop a plan to stand up to North Korea and get them back on track in ending their nuclear weapons development.
Los Angeles Times Story
What sanctions should be put on North Korea? I believe that there is really nothing we can do without offending its tyrannical ruler. This is a situation we should all be concerned about. The question is, do we need another war?

believe countries have nuclear weapons for the same reasons the people carry fire arms. It is a protection thing. You cant bring a knife to a gun fight. I think it is more of a better safe than sory method. If no one messes with them than North Korea wouldn't have a reason to bomb anyone. The United States should keep an eye on them from a long distance and let them run their country.

im with T. Jones on this one, lets keep a watchful eye on the situation, but the need for action is not now. Its as if the U.S. wants to be the only kid with new toys. Nuclear weapons have been a darling for the U.S. for years, korea has the right to have them, but they had better not use them.

I agree as well...the last thing we need is to start another war right now. We are already spending billions and billions on Iraq. North Korea has violated our terms for weapons of mass destruction before, this is nothing new. As long as they don't use them we need to let them be for the time being.

I don't think North Korea has any intention of using nuclear weapons. Personally, I think North Korea is just "rattling the saber" as they have done in the past to get more foreign aid, money, etc. I'm sure as wacked out as Kim Jung Il may be, he knows that he cannot afford to wage a war against anyone, and especially not the United States or South Korea, the main two targets of the threats they have been issuing.

I do not believe that North Korea is going to start a Nuclear war, but I do believe that the United States should begin to prepare themselves just in case anything does happen. I do not believe we need to commence another war against North Korea right now. I agree with Terrell, North Korea has nuclear weapons as a safety precaution. I do not think they are going to use it unless someone threatens or attacks them first.
