While in Pennsylvania on the campaign trail Barack Obama said that "some small-town Pennsylvanians are "bitter" people who "cling to guns and religion." This has obviously angered many of his potential voters and giving Clinton a bit of an edge. She has been currently handing out bumper stickers saying " i'm not bitter." Obama is claiming that he "mis-spoke," and did not word his sentance well enough. What he really meant to say is that these small town folks are upset that they've lost their jobs years ago and they are continually slipping through the cracks of each presidential administration, and somthing needs to be done about it.

It's really a shame that BS like this carries so much weight in the political arena. I'm sure most people didn't even comprehend the point Obama was trying to make, they just eat up the negative spin that the Clinton campaign put on the word bitter. It just sucks that there is so little debate over policy. It seems more and more like the race is about the battle between spin doctors and less about policies.
