Every vote should count

The national Democratic party stripped Florida of its Democratic delegates to the national convention, because the Florida legislature moved our presidential primary to January 29. This means that the votes of Florida Democrats will not count in determining who will be the Democratic nominee. I think this is a violation of every voter's right to vote and the right to have their votes count. This does not seem fair and just in a democracy. What happened to the voice of the people?

This is wrong! Every vote should count and Florida Democrats should have a say in determining the Democratic nominee. I also believe it is a violation of voters rights.

At least I don't have to worry too much about it, I just got my voting license so I don't have to stress over the 30 day wait any longer. haha However, I don't know the entire facts about why we can't vote, and you're right, it doesn't seem fair really.

While the votes won't officially count towards the delegate totals right now, they'll actually influence the election more than any vote in three decades. In the past, Florida primaries have taken place after the nominee was pretty much already decided. That means that going back to at least 1976, the Florida results have had no impact on the choosing of nominees. This time, the results in Florida will actually have a huge impact on the way that people vote on February 5, leading to a heavy influence on the overall results.

Beyond that, the national parties don't really have to power to prevent delegates from being seated. The nominee determines what delegates will be seated and the leading candidates have all said they would seat the delegates.

It is my belief that every vote will count. Because there is always someone watching, and you could just inspire them to do something for there country.
