Should non-re-occurring convicted felons be punished their whole lives?

If you have been convicted x number of years ago and havent been in any legal trouble since should you still be restricted in society? In any way? I think not! (but then again... it depends on the crime!) And your opinion is?.... (Rain Hardy)

Primarily, we are talking about voting rights. In Florida and some other states convicted felons do not gain back the right to vote most of the time.
