Why on earth would we take sex education out of our schools? Are all the parents out there really siutable for teaching children abouth the birds and the bees? Or should I say, to think or even care to inform the child. More money needs to go towards sex ed in schools.

Florida doesn't spend nearly enough money on education (we're right at the bottom of the list). So why would you think they would offer funding for such a controversial subject? Do I agree that they should teach sex ed. in schools? Yes I do. But Florida isn't gonna spend money on anything that they aren't forced to.
I think sex ed should be taught in all middle schools. Kids are having sex at younger ages so they need to be informed about issues regarding sex by a professional.

I think sex education needs to be kept in our schools. More and more students are getting pregnant and having to drop out of school. We need to keep awareness up concerning STD's and teen Pregnacy, as these issues are becoming more and more of an issue in schools today.

+1 johnny.. I think it would be better for a trained professional not only trained in the issue but trained to teach it to small children. Technology is changing as well as contraceptives and i just don't think it parents are keeping up with it.
Most parents really arent capable of teaching their kids about sex because they might not be as qualified as a teacher to explain everything. Most parents are too embaressed and will barely discuss it.

Also i feel that if they cut Sex Ed. most parents will not even attempt to talk to their child about it. It is hard to believe but there are parents that don't worry about it. This program can sometimes be the only source of info. on the subject.

I think sex education should be mandatory, especially for middle schoolers. I think sex education is one of the many important programs that slip between the cracks and does not get the support from the government that it deserves.
i dont know about you all but i didnt really learn anything in sex ed that i didnt know. I learned how to check for testicular cancer and i now know what many STDs look like. I knew how to strap up, and i knew were babies came from. In my opinion it really boils down to sex ed via good parents.
Sex ED Shouldn't just stop with the students, money should be invested for a program to teach parents how to handle the situation on the home front also instead of letting the T.V. do it.
I just recently did a paper on our education and sex ed was a big issue in our school system. Mainly because too many parents do not think there children should be learning these things at school but more from the parent themselves. President Bush has a bill out that only allows for so much talk about sex education and will only fund so much because of this enormous up roar. I think it should be completely taught like it was in my Human Sexuality class in College. You gain so much more of a better understanding and actually it made me want to live in a bubble because of the things that are out their.
