Hilary Clinton says that she would like to implement "Green Schools". That is wonderful but I don't see anyway that it could be done, not to mention fees able.
"Create "Green Schools" in order to reduce energy costs and eliminate environmental hazards that can hinder children's development." Retrieved on April 09/08 http://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/education/
Can anyone give me any idea as to how this could be accomplished, and also what they think about it.

I think that would be a good idea. But, I do not see that happening. That would cost a lot of money. They can barely pay teachers and are always talking about cutting activities so how would they be able to afford that.

Politicians are always saying things that sound really great but when you get down to the math turn up impossible, and thats what that proposal is...impossible. The American people are tired of paying so many taxes, and we want tax cuts! So I don't know very many people who would be willing to pay more taxes so that schools could become more "green".
Alot of older schools, just like older homes, are not built as efficently as they could be built now. There are many improvements that could be made to schools that could cause them to run more efficently, example: modern heating and cooling systems, new windows and isulation, replace all incedesent bulbs with floresent bulbs, remove lead paint... etc. All of these are potiental improvements that can be made to any older buildings, but are very costly. If she can find the money to do this, it could potentialy provided more funding for books, teachers and new technology in the future.

"A lot of money" is relative. It would be a lot to you and me, but not much in terms of the $3 trillion federal budget. It's unlikely it would lead to more taxes and funds like these come from different pools of money than do teacher salaries and activity funds, so the two are unrelated.
The majority of Americans say they are willing to pay higher taxes to get more services from the government.
Also keep in mind that green technology saves money in the long term, since electricity bills decline.
The reason people are willing to pay taxes because it is actually an incredibly good return on your money. The taxes you or I will pay in our entire life won't be enough to pay for the road you drive to school on, much less the school, the teachers, national defense, etc., etc. Try paying for these things on your own.
I am all for the environment. If great minds get together to have an alternative for energy, we will be supporting Al Gore's ideas, which is good. In politics though, the older the administration gets the harder it is to get things done. It is better to get a young person to accomplish this large task of saving our planet because we don't need the burden of making a space craft to travel to mars for a new home.
I wonder if she will fill the schools with those harmful green light bulbs full of mercury. I personally think LED is the new wave of the future, lighting wise. Although i think all this green/global warming junk is a hoax i do love the new technology that is coming out and think it has gotten a lot of people racking their brains on ways to save money for the public.
I believe that little things can be done done to homes and schools to lower lighting bills such as the florecent light bulb idea. I have put the bulbs in all sockets in my house and noticed quite a change in the bill. Though they may be a little pricey upfront, it pays off in the long run. And thats how a lot of the American society is now, they are too afraid to give upfront because they want something in return. Everyone is too impatient to wait for something good to come around.
Hilary has a good idea, and I say go for it. However, isn't Congress going to decide this matter? It doesn't really seem like there's been any major changes in taking care of the environment. Just a lot of talk. Is this because Congress has more power than the president?

watch out for those light bulbs around young children and/or pregnant women, they contain quite a bit of mercury and can be very harmful if broken. The manufacturers recommend and bio-hazard team to come clean them up if they break
