The Big O's unite
The first time I heard of Barak Obama was last year when Oprah Winfrey had him on her show as a guest. I can remember Obama vaguely answering Oprah as she asked about his political plans. Now that Barak is making no secret about his presidential quest, Oprah is there to back him all the way. The one woman talk show host showed her support by throwing a gala fundraiser for 1,500 lucky guests, all you needed was 2,300 bucks and a democratic state of mind. The Queen of Daytime has done more than throw Obama a party, she has put his name in the homes of her viewers, many of these people will support him just because his name is linked to Oprah. In more ways than one, it pays to know people.

Exactly, this always happens. Some people think that people actually think about their votes. Yea right, It has to do a lot with who you know and that has always been the case.
I don't really agree with that, there are more people than you think that actually do pay attention to politics and society. Anyway you look at it there will never be an election when everyone casts an informed vote, all we can do is make informed decisions ourselves and encourage it.
They pay attention to politics through what? Television, radio, friends and family, good contacts . . . people in that case are just making decisions based on what their friends think or what some other guy thinks. For the most part they aren't making decisions based on facts just speculation.
I think it's sad that celebrities use their popularity to promote political views and people. If they want to say something, they should have to work in the same system that other citezens do.

I'm not sure I understand this one. Are you saying that famous people don't have the right to talk about politics?
